The RFC sets a fixed fee that is locked in for the search to eliminate any bias for candidates with higher compensation.
Only in the event that the offered cash comp ends up being over 20% higher than the agreed target comp, the fee will be then be recalculated based on the actual comp offered.
If there is no target cash comp given at the start of a search, the fee will be calculated at the end based on the actual comp offered.
